Smitha

Smitha is a singer-songwriter from South London, breaking out onto the live music scene a few years ago, both locally and nationally. She started performing at open mic nights around London, with just her voice and her guitar. This lead to festival performances and eventually a gig to an audience of 10,000 in 2017 on the main stage at Jimmy’s Farm Festival.

Her music has been described as soul/pop with a retro vibe. Her songwriting is emotive, heartfelt and real. Combined with her mellifluous and velvet-like voice the listener is instantly drawn in and she has been known to silence the noisiest of crowds.

In 2019 Smitha released ‘Belong’ and ‘Lost Peace’ from her forthcoming 5 track debut EP ‘Belong EP’ due to be released in January 2020. One of her other tracks, called Greedy Love, was entered into the B-Side Project competition (judges include Clean Bandit, Utah Saints, Roni Size) and the remix by a young up and coming American DJ/producer, Altruist, won best overall remix.

Smitha has just co-written and sung the theme tune ‘Running Free’ for the independent feature film ‘Adventure Boyz’ by award winning film director Howard J Ford. The film was screened at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and will be released internationally in March 2020. The film has already gained a lot of media attention and the song has become a key feature of the film.
