Tigerbeat

Tigerbeat are a four piece band from Hamburg, Germany, consisting of the members Frehn Hawel (git, vox), Sven Elsner (dr), Daniel Schlott (git, keys, vox) and Stefan Nielsen (keys, synth, git, vox). Founded in December 1996 the band played extensively in Germany /Austria/Switzerland and in 2000 the legendary SXSW Festival in Austin Texas –promptly gaining them an article in the Austin Chronicle for playing the loudest show of the entire festival. February 2002 saw the release of their debut album “No.1” to raving reviews, and due to the futurey- garage rock sound that lead to the “German Blues Explosion” comparisons. Controversial as ever the band did not want to serve the expectations that went along with that shady moniker and answered in typical manner with “13 Songs” in November 2013 – an album full of classic rock influences (Stones, Who, Pink Floyd) and a final track over 7 minutes long . Needless to say, they got away with it, critics and the public loved it equally, naming it an instant classic in german underground rock. After a hefty year of touring Germany/Austria/Switzerland and Benelux and a festival summer that saw the band play on every major festival in Germany and Austria things got quieter, leading to an indefinite hiatus. Seven years after their last show out of the blue Tigerbeat announced a special show in Hamburg on September 25, 2013. ...
