We love and FOLLOW Jesus Christ and we praise Him for spiritual gifts He is growing in us. Follower lyrics challenge the status quo of the religious world and nudge the maturing Christian listener to strive forward to more growth in Christ. It's about going beyond belief. We hope to lay crowns at the feet of His Heavenly throne via spreading His Word, agape love and grace to anyone who will listen. So how did the band Follower begin? In the Summer of year 2010 future lead singer/songwriter Dean Rebhorn felt strongly pulled by God to leave a 20-year career at a major pharmaceutical company in Indianapolis, IN. He simple states "Um, I was no longer corporately aligning". Anyone in the big business world can comprehend! Well, the only other passion and talent Dean felt he had to give God was music. He was leading praise & worship at his church at the time, however this genre of music wasn't burning in his soul personally. Instead, ROCK music was his true genre love. So on a leap of faith, and a good voluntary severance package opportunity during a "slim-down of employees" made available by the company (God's tremendous timing!), Dean volunteered to leave that career and start the 4-man Christian ROCK band FOLLOWER. Six months later FOLLOWER completed a 4-song EP and within a year their first full-length album. It was in April, 2012 that the commitment levels of band members was now becoming important. Things were heating up as they say in the music biz and the band parted ways with it's drummer and bassist. Two new band members were needed. That was half the band. Truly it was a time of much prayer, faith, and...honest concern. In a band-world sense of terms, miraculously(!), 2 days after the internal decision (no one in public knew) that two new members were needed, a local drumming talent, Paul Franklin (90's Indy band "Paragon") was searching the internet for Indianapolis Christian rock bands. This due to the prodding of his wife for him to use his talent again for Christ after 4 years of not playing! Paul "stumbled upon" the FOLLOWER home website www.followerband.com. Upon seeing that the band was performing concerts with Central Indiana's best Christian rock bands Paul sent an email through their website "Contact" page asking if FOLLOWER knew of any Indy-based Christian rock bands who were looking for a drummer. Uh, yes. FOLLOWER! Of course the band opened their arms to him knowing that these things don't "just happen" and immediately knew that God has sent them their drummer. Then, a few days later, lead vocalist Dean Rebhorn contacted a very musically-talented friend he'd met through serving on a Kairos Prison Ministry team named Andrew Hamilton. Long story short, Andrew made room in his very busy life-schedule and even was humble enough to volunteer to play bass since that was the role that the band needed (Andrew's main role in previous bands was drummer but he also had been a vocalist, keyboardist and bassist!). Hence, the FOLLOWER Christian Rock Band known today was brought together in a most blessed-by-God, and to us, miraculous way! Follower's simple prayer request is that God continue to open doors for them to spread His Word and steer people more than just simple "belief" (being a "fan") in God.
