About Grasshole
Grasshole - A gnarly fuzzed out irreverent Rock n Roll band from Melbourne, Australia.
Grasshole aren't going to die wondering. They released the self-titled EP ‘Grasshole’ in 2013 followed by their 2nd EP ‘The Unification Proclamation’ which was added to rotation across 90 US Radio Stations and debuted at #1 on a handful of stations. 2016. Then in 2018 they dropped their debut LP ‘Fuzz Of Flavour. Two tours of Europe followed plus Indonesia.
The current single ‘Wildfire’ is out and now it’s time for the new LP also titled ‘Wildfire’
“We feel this is our strongest album to date. Every song stands up with conviction. Whilst there’s a range of unique song styles permeating the album, it all fits together in typical Grasshole fashion. - Rick Hawkins (Drums/Vox)
Recorded in the beautiful Aussie countryside over 11 days at Beveridge Road Studios with Marc Russo. They lived and breathed the tracking for the better part of two weeks, sometimes pulling 16 hour days to bring together all the guitars and harmonies to life. Rock beast Lindsay Gravina (Hole, Jet, Cosmic Psychos, Violent Soho) joined them at the end on the full mixing and mastering of the album and took it to a whole new level.
Jack Howard (Hunters & Collectors) and Rick Hawkins are old school mates. Rick made the call and Jack fronted up and layed down the blistering horns that really made this album swing.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect when old school mate Rick Hawkins asked me to record with his band Grasshole. What I got was a cracking bunch of concise, inventive, hook-laden songs full of equal parts heavy riffage and melody. It was a pleasure to play trumpet on a few tracks.” - Jack Howard (Hunters & Collectors)
This is an honest rock album with plenty of appeal. Catchy hook-wise without compromising it’s garage fuzz-punk integrity.
“These songs and performances capture the spirit of the 90’s as well as anything I’ve worked on these past few years, but with a few surprising twists!”
- Lindsay Gravina on album 'Wildfire'
