JANKINS

Jankins is a promising rapper, producer, singer and songwriter from Tulsa, OK who sets out to deliver a personal sound that rides the line between being cliché, and innovative, not unlike artists such as Childish Gambino, Kanye West and Outkast. Jankins started to develop his musical skills at a very early age, at first singing in many different choirs and performing in off-Broadway shows, but later in his early teens embracing the rap culture, sound and attitude. Jankins started out producing beats and doing engineer work for local rappers & singers to make ends meet before deciding to release his own material. It didn't take long before things started taking off, and the young talent managed to earn a solid reputation within the local scene as well as on a national basis, under his former moniker P.D.A. After shaking the country with 7 mixtapes and frequent national touring, P.D.A. evolved into a new act, Jankins. The new project still circles around rap and hip hop as a core influence, albeit approaching the genre with a more eclectic approach, including influences from artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince and Bruno Mars, to name a few. In July of 2013 Jankins started releasing a new song every Thursday under the campaign "#JANKINSThursday". These releases resulted in 2 well received mixtapes. In May of 2014 Jankins released his first single on iTunes titled "Gettin' Drunk". A song which he calls "A drinking song for the drama-free". Jankins popularity has been growing quite substantially thanks to the unpermitted remixes he has done of Katy Perry, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, and a Michael Jackson remix that caught the eye ok the UK's Biggest MJ Fansite "MJWorld.Net". His Childish Gambino remix has already gathered over a million views on Youtube. He also was a runner up in a Genero.TV contest that won him a music video to be released in the coming months, and even more, was featured on VIBE.com's Rapper Files for his song "Truman". Jankins is one of the most hard working, dedicated, focused and talented rapper/musicians that is surely on his way to becoming the most talked about artist in his field.
