About Sarah Scharbrough Music
Sarah is no spring chicken. This isn’t her first rodeo. As a wife of over twelve years to her best friend & college sweetheart, mother to three children under 5 years old, and worship leader/songwriter & blogger, she has seen her fair share of seasons. Through her writing, she articulates the mountain and valley experiences of journeying through life with depth, sincerity, raw emotion, and humor. Using her classical and jazz background, she mixes in other audio flavors - gospel, country, and pop for a soulful and eclectic sound. Having worked with Grammy-award winning musicians, collaborating and sharing the stage with Bill and Gloria Gaither, Sandi Patty, Kurt Elling, Watermark, Jon McLaughlin, Alanna Story, Cook & Belle, Dierks Bentley and a slew of other impressive talents, Sarah’s songs have taken her around the world to jazz festivals, colleges, clubs, conferences, and churches, among other events. Sarah is the daughter of musicians and values the joy that playing and singing with her family still brings. She is accompanied by her husband (Jeff McLaughlin) on drums, brother (Stephen Scharbrough) on guitar, sister (Suzanne Cogswell) on vocals, and Bethany Robinson (who is like a sister) on bass. Building on a foundational love of music, she and Jeff try to leave a legacy of music and joy in their own home and community. Sarah has released 4 albums including "So Many Reasons", "The Least of These", “Draw Me Back”, and, most recently, “The Bright Midwinter - A Christmas Meditation.” She has also released a live concert DVD. She has been the voice of commercial radio and television jingles ranging from Ford, Dodge, and New Balance to Cedar Point Theme Park and the Indiana Pacers. She is currently writing and working on an album with Jon McLaughlin due out summer 2014. Sarah strives to sing the praises of real life and lament the struggles as well. She half-jokingly says that her vocation is sitting around the table crying with people. Sharing stories (of all kinds) is at the forefront of what she does. She is a worship leader at Grace Church in Noblesville, IN and enjoys hanging with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, turbo-kick & zumba, making art out of junk, and making junk out of art.
