About Heavy Demons

Heavy Demons were officially grounded in the beginning of 2001 as a result of a project already created by Jack Demon (vocals) in the precedent years. The first demo, Light Of Darkness, is recorded in 2002 with Nava (drums), Teo (bass), Ste (guitar) and Kevin (guitar) completing the line-up. The four tracks included in this first recording reflect the first era of the band. The music incorporates influences from early horror metal bands of the '80s. During the following two years Heavy Demons performes several gigs across homeland Switzerland, Italy and Hungary (with Casketgarden, Baskiria and Aggregator). Shortly thereafter, Nava and Teo leave the band because of personal issues, almost immediately replaced by Sick (drums) and Paride (bass). This is the birth of Heavy Demons' second era. The band evolves and develops new sonorities more in the thrash/death metal direction. In the spring of 2004, the band enters AlphaOmega Studios to record a self-produced EP named Empty Inside. After this release, the band plays many shows all over Switzerland with bands such as Death SS, Necrophobic, Daemonia, Cataract, Kruger, Abgrund, Paul Di Anno and other local acts. During this period, Kevin leaves the band. The band begins to work on a preproduction for the debut album, but is forced to interrupt and never completes the recordings because of the departure of Ste. With the arrival of Piter (guitar) in late 2007 the third era of the band begins and Heavy Demons can come back to the scene with live gigs, including a date with Minnesota's shockrock masters Impaler. One year after, the line-up is completed by the arrival of Russell (guitar). The spirit of the band is stronger than ever and finishing the works for the debut full-length album becomes the primary goal. In summer 2009, Heavy Demons enters Stairway Studio with producer Ste Scenini to record a 10 tracks effort. Nonetheless, the band continues to appear live and supports thrash metal legends Destruction for the Swiss date of their 2009 tour. Heavy Demons' first album, Tenebra, containing 9 tracks and a cover of italian Death SS, is released on May 12th 2010. Over the two-years period after Tenebra is released, the Demons perform several live gigs over Switzerland and Italy. In addition, in 2011 Heavy Demons perform a 10-years anniversary concert at the Metrò Club in Lugano, where a professional video troupe shoots the whole show. After this period on the road the band gets back into the rehearsing room to work on the material that would eventually appear on the second album. Between 2013 and 2014 Heavy Demons finally enter the studio, once again supervised by producer Ste Scenini at Stairway Studio. This time, Ste is supported by Jack Demon at his Braincan Studio in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland. The album is mixed by Ste Scenini and mastered by Tom Hutten at Bionic Mastering Studios, U.S. In addition to recording the new album, during the summer of 2014 the band participates to a tribute album dedicated to the american horror band Impaler. As the only european band featured in the compilation, Heavy Demons contributes with the song Dying to meet you. On the 31 st of January 2015, Heavy Demons' second full-length album - entitled TWICE - is finally released. The album is musically very intense and features highly energetic parts, enriched by a grain of mystical romanticism. The lyrics deal with real events that have influenced the forging of this work.
