About The Joneses

The Joneses

“The Joneses” are a family group based in Wheelersburg, Ohio. The group is made up of Joy Jones, her son Ryan Jones, and violinist/vocalist Abbie Ailes! Joy is blessed and proud to travel with them as a family group.... Family harmony is like no other! Ministry is a passion for the group, evident in their performances. God's anointing is a major emphasis in all their lives and love ministering to people everywhere!

The group has been blessed to be a part of National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN for the past four years, and have also experienced God's favor in radio. The first single release from their latest CD (Come On, Come On) broke into the Singing News Top 80 at #58.

At age four Joy began singing with her evangelistic family, The Bales Family. They traveled the United States, Canada, Haiti, Jamaica, and Mexico from her youth into young adulthood. In 1996 Joy joined New Journey as a featured vocalist on many songs, including the group's first top ten radio single. During this phase the group signed with Homeland Records in Franklin, Tennessee and signed with Parker Music Group booking agency in Nashville. The group was also invited to be a part of multiple Gaither Homecoming concerts and videos... which was a tremendous experience. Other appearances were made on television programs such as TBN, Gary McSpadden's Gospel Hour, & multiple appearances on Daystar Television Network. In 1999 (while with New Journey), Joy was voted “Favorite Soprano of the Year” by the Kentucky Gospel Music Association.

In 2001, New Journey owner John Darin Rowsey disbanded the group to pursue other career opportunities. During this time Joy was offered fulltime positions with other nationally known groups. But Joy felt impressed by God to embark on a solo ministry (Joy Jones Ministries), enabling her to travel with her husband (Tucker Jones) and their two young boys. Family was her priority with young children. They travelled nationally with Joy releasing her first successful national solo single “Do it Afraid”. Joy also made multiple appearances on Daystar Television Network, and churches across the country. Joy's husband Tucker, now serves as Group Manager & Sound Tech.

Joy's son Ryan (21) has been singing since a very young age. Growing up on the road was a great teacher, with it becoming a passion for him. For a time Ryan and his older brother Derec (24) performed on all of “Mom's” concerts as a duet “The Jones Boys”. They recorded multiple CDs, gaining invaluable experience at a young age. He now attends Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio to obtain a degree in counseling/psycology. Ryan also leads the college's Chapel Team there on campus. The college is ministry-minded and graciously accommodates the group's touring schedule.

In 2013, Joy and the boys decided to “join forces” and form the family trio, “The Joneses”. As a trio they have made appearances on Daystar Television Network and have continued to travel the country. In 2015, Derec decided to go off the road. He was recently married and wanted to work in their local church, along with leading a weekly community youth Bible Study.

In 2015 the group was blessed to add violinist Abbie Ailes (23) from Lancaster, Ohio! Abbie has been playing since the age of 5 and is also very anointed with a passion for music. Abbie's violin solos are a huge hit with audiences everywhere! She also is a talented vocalist and joins in with the group on certain selections. Abbie is a versatile and tremendous addition to the group!

God is blessing and expanding the ministry to be able to affect more people for the Kingdom! Joy, Ryan, and Abbie are excited to see what God's plans are for them and where HE wants to take them!
