1. SPECIES aka DJ Aki
As he was in the music since his young age, from different directions like hip-hop, pop, r'n'b, in 1995 he steps into electronic music by choosing trance as his favorite sound. Aki started his DJ carrier in 1997 by forming the INTELLECT organization along with DJ Vlada and very soon he becomes one of the leaders of the trance scene in Belgrade. In 1998 he meets Eli and together they bild up the Species project. After years of experimenting with different styles of psy-trance the project evolved and managed to make a recognizable Species sound. This resulted in releasing a series of singles for EtnicaNet, MP Records, 3D Vision, and an album for EtnicaNet (Groove Dont Come Easy). As a Dj and Producer he played all over the globe: Portugal(Zambujeira Dance Festival), St.Petersburg (Optical Matrix), New York(Alladin Project), Japan (Solstice), XXXPERIENCE(Brasil), Canada(Tech Safari), Croatia (UWOG), Greece, Slovenia, Italy (Psy Carneval)with the biggest names on the trance scene (X-Dream, Joti Sidhu, Dino Psaras, GMS, Tristan, Etnica, Skazi, Christof Drouillet, Dimitri).In 2005 He formed Ultra Groove Records,and together with other artists from Serbia(Digital Number,Soundformer,Prosper,Pion..) relesed V.A. compilations such as Electric Juice, Nucleus, Bad Company... http://www.ultragrooverec.com
2. SPECIES (FIN) - Rock band from Finland.
They don´t make an option in the ritual known as starting a band; the first chats of the band were held in winter 1998 in one particular joint where some band was performing without an audience. As a result, the decision was made to form a better and cooler rock band.
SPECIES was born. The first two tracks, "Set right" and "Rippin´", saw daylight. It felt good, it sounded good and almost right away phones started ringing for some gigs in the city. SPECIES knocked off-limits and became known in the hood for their live acts. The century ended with recordings; the pilot-single, "Outsider" / "Set right", came out in spring 2000. Summer took SPECIES to the countryside to record a full album at the Karillo-studios. "Heyday Soup", a rock album that tastes good, is what they came back with. http://www.species.biz
