Alvarado

The songwriter and rapper Alvarado originates from El Salvador, grew up in the United States and moved to Denmark at the age of 10. During a tough upbringing, rap music became Alvarado's biggest interest, and as a teenager she went on stage as a rapper. Her style is inspired by the 90’s New York era that meets a new school lyrical approach, storytelling and playful rhyming over lo-fi vibey beats. Alvarado has gained notoriety in the underground scene as a drum n bass MC, and stage sidekick of Black Daniels, which later sparked her interest in doing her solo career. In 2016 after releasing two self-made videos, she released her critically acclaimed debut EP‘Venusian’. This has been a milestone for her career and made her one of the next big hopes for rap music in Scandinavia. On Venusian, Alvarado deliberately avoids using typical rap punchlines. Instead she wanted to go deeper into different themes which are hinted at by some of the song titles: ”Pressure”, “Karma” and “Thinking About You”.
