About Roc Sol Miami

Roc Sol is a visual artist and hip hop recording artist in Miami, FL. Growing up, he immersed himself in the hip hop culture by learning graffiti, breakdancing, and the art of emceeing through Catalyst Hip Hop, a non-profit organization teaching the next future generations all of the elements of hip hop. Now, he uses his skills as an inspiration for both his art and music. He is notoriously known for using abstract patterns and unique color schemes within his art. As a hip hop artist influenced by boom bap and modern-day hip hop artists, his music is often lyrical and conscious. There is an old-school vibe to his flow that he mixes up with his own spin and influence. His first project as a hip hop artist was a mixtape he released in 2013 titled “Tracksides: Volume 1” which was mixed by DJ Frogie and had various local artists, DJ’s, and producers as features. In 2014, a female vocalist, videographer, and marketing guru named Christy Love joined him on his music venture. Together, they have created a unique sound by combining their musical styles into one and are both known under the alias of “Roc Sol”. Roc Sol has also contributed their knowledge and talents to inspire the next generation by being mentors to at-risk youth in the inner city and in foster care. They taught them how to use art and music as a form of expression through the non-profit The Motivational Edge. Rocky used this experience as an inspiration to create his art through different art forms such as canvases, murals, hats, masks, sketches, and more. He uses various colors within his art to promote positivity since he believes that the use of various bright colors can cause a more positive emotion than darker colors. Both Rocky and Christy used this experience to influence the content of their music as well to incorporate more positive and conscious music that helps promote self-confidence. Roc Sol has participated in various art events throughout South Florida such as Art Walk, Art Basel, Secret Garden, Lucid Gallery, Art Central and various festivals. His art was also displayed in the Mindwarehouse Connect Art Galley in Downtown. He has also painted various murals around Miami and for various businesses such as Born Barbers Barbershop and Flex Studios gym for Big Dog Supplies. Even though Rocky had been focusing on his art and was able to sell hundreds of his products throughout the last 4 years, he never stopped writing or going to the studio to record new songs. As a hip hop artist influenced by boom bap and modern-day hip hop influences, he has participated in various music events throughout Miami such as Saturday Mic Live, Hip Hop Won’t Save You, Speak Miami and much more with Christy Love. Now, in 2016, he is ready to release the songs he had been working on with Christy Love for the past few years. Artist || Muralist || Custom Made Hats, Shoes, and Canvases || Hip Hop Duo ||
