About Pseudomorph

Pseudomorph who are we? Detailed back story: The Pseudomorph project sprang forth from under the beanie of guitarist/writer Jack Wiggins back in early 2013, resulting in a massive swag-bag full of old school metal crossed with modern hard rock riffs and melodies on which the sound of the band is hinged. Influenced by Maiden, Metallica, Alter Bridge, Soundgarden and others, we’ll bring you fun, energetic rock to bounce, fist pump and head bang to by turns. From that point until the very recent future the band has been evolving, changing and growing through various new members adding input and influence and in some cases, very pale ginger legs. The result being the sound you hear today, our demo to be found on all the usual social and media sites for your listening pleasure (or on the enclosed CD if this has been posted!) Members are: Jack Wiggins: Hat connoisseur, gastronaught and main composer. He can fit an entire drum kit under his inevitable Beanie, making the job of drum roadie redundant. Animal: Tortoise Joseph Ely: Pale, Ginger, Posh – everything a drummer should not be – plus by trade a classical percussionist. Good thing he has so many hang ups about his natural hair pigmentation, he beats these frustrations to death behind the kit. Animal: Red Setter Matt Thompson: Tool. Not him, his favourite band. He brings a higher level of musicianship to the band and heavier influences which are leant on from time to time in tracks like Two Suns. Far more graceful and light on his feet than one would expect from his impressive stature, years of training for the English National Ballet have given him poise and a self possession not to be found in other bass players. Animal: Hippo (far left) from Fantasia Mark Chappell: Bearded, weird and with a shameful love of 80s hair metal probably brought on by some sort of hair loss anxiety disorder he is yet to admit. To this day he continues to head bang as though the flowing locks of his youth were still upon him. Not a bad voice though. Animal: Hobbit Jason Mills: Newest and final member of the band is a mad scientist, given to experimentation and fond of being electrocuted. Following the heartbreaking discovery that a doppelganger had stolen his true life, a man known to most as Russell Brand, Jason turned to music to fill the void in his life that could not be filled by the role of mad-cap comedian which was his true calling. Animal: Disturbed and slightly unhinged racing snail. And there you have it, the band, the line-up. The back story. We are here and we love it!
