About Scott Foster Harris

THE LIFE OF A MODERN SINGER/SONGWRITER/MUSICIAN… Scott discovered the musical facet of his soul at the age of nineteen. While healing from an injury he sustained as a rodeo bull rider, Scott became completely obsessed with the magic of music, poetry, acting, writing, as well as a whole nimiety of the performing and creative arts. Temporarily unable to ride, he began pursuing, especially, his new-found passion for music consisting of teaching himself to play multiple instruments and, almost immediately, writing and singing songs. Briefly, Scott toured Texas and Oklahoma as a singer/songwriter. He then moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a writer. Once in Music City, U.S.A., he landed a publishing deal with Amylase Music; his earliest songs were cut by artists such as Stephen Cochran, Todd O’Neil and Vinny Van Zant of Trailer Choir. After leaving Amylase Scott began recording and performing with the band Seventy Seven. However, within a few months he grew restless to create and perform his own music thus laying the foundation for his future band, Zen Rizing. One by one he put his band together and shortly there-after moved them all out to LA to pursue their kind of music. Within the first year they had accomplished such feats as winning an LA Music Award for ‘rock single of the year’ for their tune “Heaven In Your Eyes”, establishing a residency at the Whisky A Go Go, receiving airplay on 95.5, opening for Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger of The Doors, and becoming regular fixtures on such stages as The House Of Blues and The Roxy. While in Hollywood, in addition to his music, Scott began kindling his flame for Acting in both Film and Theatre. Almost immediately he landed a few small roles on TV shows such as ‘Weeds’ and ‘Hot In Cleveland’ while winning the parts for such Theater roles as John the Baptist of ‘Godspeed’ and Boris the Guardian Angel of ‘Angel Academy.’ In mid 2012 Zen Rizing called it quits for personal/family reasons stemming from 2 of the band members, thus leaving Scott without his band. He then took to job as frontman for LA Guns and started recording an album with the Tracii Guns’ League of Gentlemen set to be released in mid 2013. After a year of life with LA Guns, Scott decided it had come time to “Do His Own Thing.” For him, that meant going back to his roots and making the kind of music that moves him most…’Country.’ He’s currently recording his first record as “Scott Foster Harris” in both Los Angeles and Vienna, Austria and is set in the musical spectrum of a Bluesy, Tribal-Country album…“My favorite thing I’ve EVER put together” says Scott. His performances have developed into a one-man show consisting of his country penmanship, his bluesy jams, and his psychedelic and tribal musical odysseys that are awe-inspiring and that border on the essence of “timelessness.” Being a singer/songwriter/performer as a solo artist allows him to fully tap into his creativity and satisfaction and that…as Scott insists…is “paramount to happiness and success.” This is where he’s meant to be. Music, Singing, Songwriting, Film, Acting, Screenwriting, Guitar, Poetry, World Culture
