Raven and Red

Raven and Red is a Folk-Americana music duo formed by singer/songwriters Brittany Jones and Mitchell Lane. After meeting in 2009 at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Brittany and Mitchell created a musical partnership that has lasted over a decade.

Their music “effortlessly nestles into the timeless tradition of the Trans-Atlantic folk idiom” (Written in Music), while their “tight harmonies, adept musicianship, and shifting genres will keep you engaged,” (Glide Magazine). Their 2018 album, We Rise Up, was hailed “one of the best debut country albums of the year,” (Fatea Magazine). The album’s title track, “We Rise Up,” hit #1 for 10 consecutive weeks on Roots Music Report’s Top 50 Contemporary Country Songs Chart.

Raven and Red’s dynamic repertoire has been featured in live concerts around the U.S. and abroad. The group has opened for Grammy Award-nominees Connie Smith and Dailey & Vincent, multi award-winning bluegrass groups Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out and The Claire Lynch Band, and Irish pop/Celtic rock band, Screaming Orphans. In 2018, Raven and Red joined the lineup at Dailey & Vincent’s Annual LandFest in the Mountains. Brittany and Mitchell can also be seen performing on stages around New York City, including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and Madison Square Garden.
