About Thomas Hinds

Thomas Hinds began his journey as a singer / songwriter in the early 1990's, inspired by the music
of bands such as U2, The Black Crowes, Def Leppard, and Counting Crows. These are just a few of
the bands that ignited his fire and fueled his musical dreams. With the hungry heart of an artist, he
began to cut his teeth on the local scene, playing festivals such as Riverfest in his hometown of
Farmington, New Mexico, the Iron Horse bicycle race, and various other singer / songwriter
events in the Four Corners area. The culmination of these performances was an opportunity
to play the historic stage of the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee in 1995.

After taking a different fork on his creative path, he put his own desire and passion for
playing live on temporary hold while he raised his family. Never one to give only half of
his heart and focus, he knew the day would come when he could once again pursue and hone
his craft. That day would come in 2007, when another life transition would lead him back to
his musical yearnings. Alight again with the fire in his belly, the time had come once again to
share his talents, this time with the world. He would spend the next several years finding his voice
again on the local stages during open mic nights and a few local venues. With encouragement from
his family, fellow musicians, and friends, he gained the ability to turn covers of his favorite songs
into personal interpretations. He would also find himself flowing seamlessly through his own creations.

He possesses the natural ability to use his music as a means of speaking from and TO the heart.
His own belief that music is THE universal language is what makes the listener embrace the
bittersweet taste of love, loss, and loneliness right along side of him. He can also take the
listener to the place where words and melody become as big a part of their lives as they are his.
His performances are filled with a level of emotion that portray a man longing to find his place
and striving to share himself through his music with each and every member of his audience.
Always able to relate to the music he plays, he makes you feel like a welcome passenger on a lyrical
and melodic joyride.

A mix of acoustic roots rock, alternative, and a touch of country / blues / soul, he is able to bring
a fresh feel to old standards and bring people to a shared and common place of harmony. It has been
said that his unique voice has the familiar feel of a fireplace warming a cold winter night. Rich and soulful
and with a longing to be heard as much as felt and understood. He is grateful to have been given that voice
and the opportunity to share his joys, heartaches, his tragedies and victories with what he likes to call
"intimate strangers". He is a performer who believes he was "born with an acoustic heart" and thanks
each and every one of you for taking this musical ride with him and entrusting him behind the wheel.
And he looks forward to sharing more musical adventures with you for many years to come.
