About Seismal D

From an early age immediately shows a strong interest in the electronic sound until he realized his passion was to express himself through music. In order to fulfill this desire to create, he dedicated himself to the study of “electronic music,” which continues to excite and kindle his original pieces. Before he was seventeen years old, he was already mastering the intricacies of hardware and software related to audio production… In 2007, he graduated from the St. Louis College of Music in Rome, Italy, completing “Hard Disk Recording” that required four years of intensive study under renowned Luca Spagnoletti who pioneered electronic music. Continuing his studies, he took an accelerated course that expanded his knowledge of hardware and DJ software, including special effects, analog and digital mixers and Pioneer console. Combining his practical education and love of all genres of music with the latest technological synthesizers, he has composed an explosive new sound that is energetic and colorful. Currently studying electronic music, physics of sound, live electronics, new technologies of computer music and composition at “University of Music S.ta Cecilia” in Rome with Giorgio Nottoli Michelangelo Lupone, and Riccardo Santoboni. KOMNAT, released by MALATOID Records in 2008, placed Seismal D at the top of international Beatport charts. It was broadcasted by top radio stations throughout Europe and quickly raised his profile within the music business elite. In 2009 Seismal D remixed Ocelot’s Beating Hearts, released by the historical label Wall of Sound, home of Royksopp, Felix Da Housecat, Lauren Garnier and others. Later big collaboration with leading artists like Pig&Dan, Moonbeam, Frankyeffe, Electric Rescue, Truncate, Steve Parker, D.Diggler, Ocelot, Sven Weber, Hugo, Aki Bergen, Tom Hades, Alessio Mereu, Minicoolboyz, F.Sonik and other producers all over the world. He’s now composing and mixing Techno music for some big label like Mau5trap Records by Deadmau5, Filth On Acid, Riot Recordings, Sleaze Records, Spark, Amazing Records, and more, designed to occupy the top of the playlists of international DJs like Richie Hawtin,(that in 2008 presents the new “Traktor” Native Instruments with its track “Xystem” (on Autist Records) Adam Beyer, Dubfire, Danny Tenaglia, Alan Fitzpatrick, Umek, Reset Robot, Kaiserdisco, Groove Armada who want to immerse their audience and inspire them to dance the night away! Seismal D’s latest tracks can be heard whether live or streamed on Wonderbeat, the current FM programme broadcasted nationally by M2O in Italy. A chat with Seismal D: What’s the concept behind your music? “Without music everything would be static. For me, Music is a dynamic concept in constant evolution and transformation in full harmony with the Universe, which is the core principle of life itself”. Your love for Techno, where does it come from? From the combination of music and technology, I guess. These two worlds now intrinsic, can create infinite combinations, I love anything that can not be determined What’s your inspiration when you do music? Music is all about powerful vibrations and deep emotions. Technology allows me to set the frequency of the sound to create a ‘magic connection between one and the others’. This is the experience we all seek for on the dance floor and the one I always share with my crowd. Can you remember your first techno track you listened to? D-Boy ‘Direct to Rave’ and ‘The Destroyer’ are absolutely the first two Hardcore Techno tracks I have ever listened to. It was from my older mate’s walkman, at the age of 8. Their emphasis on rhythm rather than melody dragged me into the world of electronic sounds. Since that moment, my biggest desire was to be able to reproduce those sounds when I would be a grown up. What other artists have influenced your music style? I have taken different influences from hundreds of electronic styles, but I don’t remember to ever listened to pop music into my room. I have a long list of favourite artists, such as Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Emmanuel Top, Prdigy, Rotterdam Terror Corps, Daniele Mondello, D-Boy, Stunned Guys, Art Of Fighters, Neophyte, Derrik May, The Orbital. My number one, is Plastikman. Your earliest club experience? In Rome the rave scene has always been associated with deep immorality. Although I never stopped to listen to techno tapes at home, in my early teens I started clubbing on House and Electro House, which is still influential in my music today. How would you describe your music today? A sort of the ‘mind’s delirium’. I tend to contrast the schematic and rigid rhythm with abstract and hypnotic jingles. What’s the best side of your music? As Electronic music has created a broad vision of the rhythm and groove, it attracts young people as a gravitational force pushing the mind into the unknown. Inspiring imagination, my music can blur the boundaries between the ‘Real’ and the ‘Abstract’ creating an attractive alternative from the nasty reality. What’s its dark side? Unfortunately, the imaginary world that this music creates can sometimes work as a trap for young people, who then reject the whole reality. Your recommendations for the young people? Party Responsible and let the music inspire you! I hope to see you all on the dance floor!
