About Traveling John
After what could easily be called blasting the hearts out of thousands of fans, Traveling John (John Dunsö) quit his career as the guitarist in Sweden’s biggest indie pop band Billie the Vision and the Dancers, to fulfill his life long dream of making a solo album and travel the world.

With his guitar and recording equipment as his only companions, he set off on a journey through North- and South America. For more than two years he hitchhiked, worked on ecological farms, busked on the streets and wrote songs for his debut solo album that was released in the end of 2018.

The album was well received by the music press and led to an acclaimed appearance on Sweden’s biggest TV morning-show Nyhetsmorgon. Several of the songs were put on major Spotify playlists including New Music Friday Sweden and have been streamed over a million times.

With melodic fingerpicking guitars and heart warming lyrics the music can be described as acoustic folk-pop, inspired by both Paul Simon and Bob Dylan. Sometimes calm, sometimes upbeat but always with a story-telling focus.
