DJ Jason Taylor

Born on October 4, 1985 in Manhattan, NY, Jason Taylor is taking the musical world by storm (aka DJ Estrella). His multi-faceted talent, intrinsic ear for sound, ambition and work ethic characterize him as an archetype of the modern DJ/producer. The 26 year-old New York native strategically combines traditional and contemporary styles as well as music from various house genres to create unique and unrivaled sets. Passion transpires through his music generating a celestial experience each time he plays. Estrella’s versatility enables him to feed off of crowd vibes and play music that is in sync with the mood and atmosphere of each individual appearance. Estrella first discovered DJing in 2009 while studying computer science at Farmingdale State University in Long Island, New York. The knowledge that he gained from his studies is implemented in his musical career in facilitating rapid and comprehensive adaptations to technology driven dj equipment and software. Post graduation, Estrella attended Dubspot NYC, a school for electric music production. Under the instruction of techno artist, John Selway, he studied sound design and engineering and learned how to work with production programs such as Ableton and Logic. He began his career using all midi based DJ setup and has since moved on to Tractor Scratch Pro and most recently, 3 Pioneer CDJ2000s and a Pioneer DJM 900 Nexus Mixer. DJ Estrella’s premier appearance at Vibe Lounge in 2010 in Rockville Center, New York, set a precedent for an ever-growing catalog of events and appearances. In his first year of DJing, Estrella was invited to play alongside DJ Steve Angello during the Winter Music Conference for his Size Records Pool Party at the Eden Rock Hotel in Miami, Florida. He has since worked with renowned DJs including Tiesto, DeadMau5, Robbie Rivera, Victor Calderone, Calvin Harris, Avicii, An21, Zedd, Sander van Doorn, Patrick M, Danny Teneglia, DJ Theo, David Morales, Boris, A-Trak, The Martinez Brothers, Cedric Gervias, Serge Devant, Chus, Pablo Ceballos, Kim Fia, Max Vangeli, Christian Smith, Sharam, Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South, Cevin Fisher, Rob Mirage and Chris Vargas. Mentors like Tiesto, Roger Sanchez, Rob Mirage and Craig Pettigrew have made significant contributions to Jason’s evolution into the artist that he is today. DJ Jason Taylor / Estrella’s Facebook fan page has gained nearly 16,000 ‘likes’ and his Soundcloud has reached over 100,000 downloads, and Jason's songs have under a million views. Jason's Twitter following is approaching 20,000. He has enjoyed the support of distinguished names like Tiesto, Roger Sanchez, David Tort, Rob Mirage, Chus, Pablo Ceballos, and Scumfrog. In late January he was signed to NERVOUS Records to produce his first compilation album that was released on April 19, 2011. The album features his first original single release entitled “I SAID”, a track that falls into the musical genre of tech house. Estrella’s complete album is available to download on iTunes, Amazon and Beatport. In addition, Estrella is currently working with mark alston from defected records and teddy gieger from Colombia records as well as local New York production partner, Michael Anthony of Stealth Records. His recent release of Love and Run with Tiesto proves his musical talent as a Producer. Most recently, Jason was asked by DJ Chus to remix his newest hit, “Libres Para Siempre” featuring Cevin Fisher, produced by David Penn and DJ Chus. Estrella was signed by Stereo Productions in early April to remix the track due to release in June of 2011. 2013 June - Jason's collaboration with the mighty Tiësto "Love and Run" was released on Tiësto's latest album, Club Life (Vol. 3).
