The Underground Pilots

The Underground Pilots are a five-piece progressive stoner rock/grunge band hailing from Portsmouth, England. Formed from the remnants of various other Portsmouth bands, the Pilots came together in March 2013 and quickly started playing as many gigs as possible and even recorded their self-titled debut EP within 3 months of formation. Continuing this trend, they quickly released their 2nd EP, “Another Part” before 2013 had come to an end and had already played close to 100 shows in their first year. During this hurried process the band had discovered their sound, which not only draws from stoner rock and grunge influences but also incorporates elements of pop, metal, doom, noise and alt.rock. 2014 proved to be a landmark year as they continued to gig extensively, embarked on a mini-tour of the North of England, and were given opportunites to play several summer festivals including Gosfest, Bikes on the Farm, Southsea Fest and even a main stage slot at Victorious Festival. They also received a nomination in the “Best Band” category for the Portsmouth News Guide Awards.
