Josh Lief Band

Josh Lief Band is a Richmond, VA based rock band. JLB plays a mix of classic and southern rock covers, plus songs off of Josh’s two albums.
Josh’s debut solo album “Redemption” was released in April, 2017. The album, recorded at Montrose Recording in Richmond, VA, contains 8 original songs, and is a mixture of Americana, Country-Rock and Blues and is available on CDBaby.com, Apple Music, Spotify, and other download services as well as in RVA at Plan 9 records. Five Forks Woods, the single off the album, was played on over 100 radio stations at its peak. In late 2018, Josh released his second album, Love In Disguise, featuring 8 new original songs. It features a mix of styles like Redemption, but has a more rock and blues feel to it. Josh released a music video for the first single off the album, Love In Disguise that has over 40,000 views. Four songs on the record have received airplay around the world and have been placed on many playlists.
Blues Blast Magazine said “Lief is a fine guitar player with a warm, husky singing voice and he also writes smart songs.” Another review said ““Ahh, remember the good old days of concept albums, when words had meaning? Josh started playing guitar when he. was 6 years old. His style is a mixture of the all the music he loved as young musician. His influences started with his big three of Hendrix, Clapton, and Led Zeppelin. He also learned a lot of country style lead guitar from being a Southern Rock fan as well as the classic country of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. He is also a fan of Neil Young, the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead and they can be heard in his lead playing and writing.
