Travis Traps

Travis Traps is a music producer, artist, sound-engineer, and DJ hybrid originating from Oklahoma City. After losing two of his closest friends during high school to drug overdoses, Travis devoted his life to their shared passion: music. In the fall of 2014, Travis graduated the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma---more commonly referred to as ACM@UCO. It was there he furthered his knowledge in the field of music production, audio engineering, and music business with a bachelor's degree.

Anthemic, aggressive, and downright dirty, Travis’ dance music utilizes killer kick drums, gritty bass lines, speaker-slaying electro leads, pumping progressive top lines, Gameboy freak-outs, ravey rises, twisted FX, and bone-rattling sub-booms that run the line of his high-octave fusion of hard dance; hip-hop; moombahton; trap; twerk; and electro house music.

Behind the decks, Travis never fails to ignite a party. He brings a variety of music---mixing positive “feel good” vibes, massive volumes of energy, and edgy beats---to every set. Traps is no stranger to spinning for massive crowds, having performed at major music festivals like Lights All Night, Backwoods Bash, two Life in Color Tours, Mystik Sanctuary, two Elektrik Prairie Music Experiences, and many other regional festivals. From main stage to the club, Travis is a dance floor veteran, having opened for legendary producers such as Moby and Nile Rodgers, as well as EDM producers like The Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, Carnage, DVBBS, Keys N Krates, Datsik, Slander, Dallas K, David Solano, Party Favor, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Pegboard Nerds, DOTCOM, iLL.Gates, DJ Sliink, Nom De Strip, Kayilox, Party Thieves, Boombox Cartel, Tomsize, Wick-it The Instigator, Manic Focus, Haterade, Clips x Ahoy!, Hype Turner, Skism, Eptic, LAXX, Megladon, Swizzymack, KJ Sawka, Riot Ten, Dack Janiels, The Hi-Yahs, Dirt Monkey, Jansten, JayKode, and Shiny Toy Guns. In addition to touring with Emmy award-winning rapper Jabee of MURS 316 label, he has also performed with hip-hop artists Waka Flocka Flame, Gorilla Zoe and Slim Thug. Travis is currently a resident DJ at Subsonix at the Market in OKC. His contribution as an audio engineer to the short film, Course of Food, assisted in a first place prize at the 2015 Deadcenter Film Awards.

Travis Traps first EP, Trap Sensei, is completed and awaiting release in 2016.
