I went to see one of the undiscovered jewels of the Australian music industry, Claire Anne Taylor on Saturday afternoon, at a “very, very” small venue, called Frank’s Wild years at Thirroul…It was a rustic but incredibly small place that played host to someone I consider to be an extraordinary artist and I say this with the greatest respect, I felt the venue was beneath someone of her talent…Thoughts of DaVinci sketching portraits for five bucks at a local market came to mind…Surely this wonderful artist is worthy of a better platform to share her gift…However, I have to say, when this bewilderingly, largely unknown singer songwriter and her wonderful band started playing, I was no longer on a wooden chair in a cramped little room, I was transported in the arms of Claire’s music to the most beautiful place and when she finished her final song I was brought gently back to reality overwhelmed with appreciation for Franks Wild Years and Cheating Hearts records for being gifted the opportunity to experience Claire’s music in such an intimate environment…If you ever have the opportunity to see Claire, don’t miss it, she is truly wonderful…

About Claire Anne Taylor
"One of those rare artists that comes along once in a blue moon." - Shane Howard (Goanna)
"One could make many a comparison when it comes to Claire Anne Taylor's voice – Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, early Mia Dyson, all spring to mind and all are evident in Taylor's vocal delivery. But essentially, it's hers and hers alone. Husky, smokey, velvet and barbed, it's an instrument in itself and it commands your attention" - Sydney Morning Herald
With a distinctively emotive and powerful vocal ability that simultaneously expresses both an inner strength and a vulnerability, Tasmania's Claire Anne Taylor has garnered a reputation for her powerful live shows – tough and tender performances that command audiences to a silence.
