A small but attentive audience at Lizotte’s were treated to a stadium level performance by Doley and band. The performer blitzed the solos on his wangy-bar piano thingy (clavinet) and enveloped the room in the rich swirling tones from his vintage Hammond and Lesley speaker. Bass player and drummer formed a rock solid foundation to Doley’s off tap musical journeys, from covers by Hendrix to originals from a sizeable back catalogue. Angus Barnes on drums treated the audience to an extended solo that demonstrated his range of the simple and steady rhythms to the more complex tricky timings demanded by Doley’s arrangements. Often those arrangements saw the virtuoso launch into the stratosphere with mind bending soaring improvisations that swooped and dove into quieter keyboard noodling. The intensity of Doley’s performance often saw him disappear into an ecstatic reverie, just as often as he would lock eyes with audience. Newcastle audiences enjoyed a surprise treat with guitar god Adam Miller joining the group on stage for three songs including Lennon’s Jealous Guy and a finale. A world class musical experience for a Thursday night in suburban Newcastle, NSW, Australia.

An outstanding gig. Lachy, Jackie and CP were flawless in their musicianship and showmanship. The intimate setting of the Doo Bop’s Basement magnified the experience. Lachy Doley plays ‘live’ as if he’s actually electrified. Excellent venue, excellent show.

It was so energetic. Lachy gave a concert of 2,25 hours and gave everybody his energy. Tremendous good music and sound.

Eine sehr professionelle 3-Mann-Band. Da kann jeder sehen wieviel Spaß die Jungs mit Ihrer Musik haben. Sehr, sehr tolles Konzert und in der Größe im Haus Eifgen Ideal. Ich war durch einen Freund zufällig darauf gestoßen und bei 15€ Eintritt habe ich gedacht, da kann man nichts falsch machen. Jederzeit wieder, das war sehr schöner Abend mit einer geilen Blues-Rock-Funk Band. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen.

Unbelievably good artist. Opened the set with what is arguably his best song, and it just kept getting better and better. We are lucky in that all of North America, his tours have always seemed to be centered in Quebec.

Incredibly intimate & most special rare solo performance from Lachy Doley. Felt very privileged to be in the audience. L.D revealed very personal & emotive parts of his soul that gave me a deeper insight into the man behind the artist! A most memorable evening!!
