About T-Bone Walker

T-Bone Walker (born Aaron Thibeaux Walker in Texas in 1910) is the founding father of the electric blues guitar, almost single-handedly defining a style that influenced every generation to follow. This is where B.B. King learned everything he knew -- as he will be the first to tell you.
T-Bone was an electrifying performer, whose splits and behind-the-back solos set the stage for his musical descendants Guitar Slim and Jimi Hendrix.
Much of his recording was done between 1946 and 1954, including his most well-known song, "Call It Stormy Monday." He was a great influence on many blues and blues-rock guitarists, such as B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. A little known fact is that T-Bone could also play the piano and was recorded at least once doing so...
He died on March 16, 1975 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 64. He is interred at the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.
