About Alleycat Scratch
The strutting, highly energetic ALLEYCAT SCRATCH looked as if they were on the verge of cutting a huge slice of the Glam marketplace for themselves when the totally self-financed, Mikey Davis produced 'Deadboys In Trash City' album was published through their own Kick Your Cat Records in 1993. Formed three years earlier, guitarist Devin Lovelace, bass player Boa and drummer Robbi Black teamed up in their native San Francisco with singer Tommy Haight and Justin Sayne on second guitar. In this formation they cut the cassette 'Cheap City Thrills' before relocating to Los Angeles and recruiting Eddie Robison from rival outfit RESURRECTION MARY. Making rapid progress, they got the opportunity to put the CD together very shortly afterwards. ALLEYCAT SCRATCH's above par musical skills and Gothique twist on Glam made waves both in the USA and Europe.
The band, however, surprisingly decided to call it a day after the cancellation of a proposed British tour in the summer of 1994 and the collapse of a proposed deal with Warner Brothers.
