"Tara Tiba is a potential expatriate trailblazer" The Australian Praised as one of Iran's most unique new voices by the country's leading ethnomusicologist, Mohammad Reza Darvishi, Tara Tiba mesmerises her audience with a soulful voice and an extraordinary vocal technique. Following the release of her highly acclaimed debut album ‘A Persian Dream’, and performances at WOMADelaide festival and New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tara Tiba and her band have been touring Australia in 2015. Born in Tehran, Iran in 1984, shortly after female singers were prohibited from performing in public, Tara Tiba began her musical journey as a child studying Western classical piano. At sixteen she developed an interest in Persian music, embarking on seven years of vocal training in the classical Persian 'Radif' system, under one of the country’s most prominent singers, Hengameh Akhavan. This age-old oral transmission from master to pupil accesses the deep cultural tradition of Iran's classical music, inspiring Tara’s ongoing musical journey up to the present day. Although an architecture graduate, Tara has decided to devote her life to music. In 2010, she recorded ‘Mooness’, a set of seven songs featuring the collaboration between Tara Tiba and multi-award winning pianist/composer Hooshyar Khayam. However due to ongoing prohibition of female singers in the public domain, it was unable to be released. Moving to Perth in 2012, Tara undertook a jazz course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and in the following year formed her band featuring both Persian classical and jazz musicians.Through this collaboration, Tara extends the applications of Persian improvisational tradition into wider musical fields, in search of broader communication with her audience. The album and live performances feature improvisations of classical Persian poetry by Baba Taher(11th Centry),Rumi and Hafez(13th and 14th Centry). Traditional tunes are given new life through original arrangements. "تارا تیبا از نادر ترین خوانندگان در ایران است" محمد رضا درویشی تارا تیبا در سال 1363 در تهران به دنیا آمد. فراگیری موسیقی را در کودکی با نوازندگی پیانو کلاسیک آغاز کرد. در شانزده سالگی در پی یادگیری ردیف دستگاهی موسیقی ایرانی نزد هنگامه اخوان رفت، که این دوره هفت سال به طول انجامید رتارا تیبا در سال 1363 در تهران به دنیا آمد. فراگیری موسیقی را در کودکی با نوازندگی پیانو کلاسیک آغاز کرد. در شانزده سالگی در پی یادگیری ردیف دستگاهی موسیقی ایرانی نزد هنگامه اخوان رفت، که این دوره هفت سال به طول انجامیدپس از پایان تحصیلش در رشته مهندسی معماری، تارا در سال 1390 به شهر پرت در استرالیا مهاجرت و در رشته آواز جاز تحصیل کرد. در سال 1392 گروه خودش را با همکاری موزیسین های ایرانی و جاز استرالیایی تشکیل داد در طی مدت کوتاهی از تشکیل این گروه، تارا تیبا به همراه گروهش کنسرتهای موفق متعددی برگزار کرده و در جشنواره هایی همچون جشنواره بین المللی جاز پرت وجشنواره وومد حضوری درخشان داشته است. روزنامه ملی استرالیا از او به عنوان هنرمندی پیشرو یاد کرده Official facebook page of Iranian singer Tara Tiba
