Witches Of Doom

Witches of Doom are a goth-stoner-doom band born in Rome in January 2013, when Federico Venditti –guitars-, DaniloPiludu –vocals- Eric Corrado- keys - Jacopo Cartelli-bass- Andrea Budicin-drums- got together and started their own musical project in order to play a personalized mix of 80’s goth, 70’s hard rock blended with a 90’s sensibility that harks back to Type o’Negative and Moonspell among others.
The Roman ensemble started to write their own material and in just a few months the bulk of the debut album was already panned out. Witches of Doom want to play in front of an audience and in Spring 2013 they embark on a series of live dates within the Roman circuit where they will establish their name as one of the hottest bands in the Roman underground music scene.
On April 2014 their debut album Obey has been released, receiving rave reviews from the press and quickly they managed to built a sold fan base. Soon after the release of their debut they signed with Sliptrick Records and started a successful tour in the Baltic countries. In 2015 the band got together to record a cover version of U2 classic New Year’s Day with Paul Bento, ex guitar of Carnivore and Type O Negative, on lead guitar. On 2016 the Witches got back in the Hombre Lobo studios to record the follow up of their debut album. Deadlights (mixed by Fredrik Folklare from Unleashed) came out on the tail end of 2016 changing partially their style embracing both goth and dark wave. Adding more colours to their stoner doom formula.
Once again the album received amazing reviews either in Italy and abroad. More shows in Italy were booked and another well received tour in Latvia followed. In the meanwhile Andrea Budicin has been replaced by Luca Iovieno on drums. Love Will Tears Us Apart by Joy Division has been released as a single and soon after the group has been invited to be part of the Death SS Tribute via Black Widow Records, recording the signature classic Kings Of Evil.
Witches Of Doom have just signed a partnership with K2 management and have now scheduled a north european tour with ex Misfits singer Michale Graves. Now the band is writing new material for their third album scheduled for an early 2019 release.

La band romana Witches of Doom nasce a Gennaio 2013, quando Federico Venditti –chitarra (ex Ossimoro), Danilo Piludu–voce-, Eric Corrado-tastiere - Jacopo Cartelli – basso- e Andrea Budicin–batteria uniscono le proprie forze e le proprie esperienze musicali per dar vita ad una band di goth-stoner-doom rock, che spazia dai nomi tutelari anni 70 fino agli anni 90.
Il combo capitolino inizia a provare subito pezzi propri cercando una formula musicale più personale possibile. Dopo un paio di mesi le “Streghe” iniziano a calcare i palchi di molti club romani mettendosi in mostra per la loro carica goth rock, facendosi le ossa con molti gruppi già affermati.
Avendo composto più di dieci brani inediti, la band si concentra nell’arrangiamento degli stessi e ad inizio Novembre si rinchiude negli Hombre Lobo Studios con l’esperto Fabio Recchia in cabina di regia, dando vita al debutto “Obey”, dieci brani di puro goth-stoner-doom rock, che pesca e prende ispirazione dai Black Sabbath,Cult, ParadiseLost, Doors ma anche SistersofMercy e Depeche Mode e molti altri.
La band subito dopo l’uscita del disco firma per la Sliptrick Records e si imbarca in tour nei paesi baltici e in diverse date in Italia riscuotendo un ottimo responso di pubblico e di critica di settore. Nel 2015 i WoD registrano con Paul Bento ( ex Type O Negative e Carinvore) alla chitarra solista il singolo New Year’s Day degli U2 filmando anche un video. Nel 2016 la band torna agli Hombre Lobo Studios per registrare il secondo lavoro Deadlights, mixato da Fredrik Folklare degli Unleashed. Il sound del gruppo versa non piu’ solo sullo stoner doom, ma anche sul goth dark- wave e industrial.
I Witches of Doom hanno firmato per l’agenzia di management K2 e stanno preparando un tour nord europeo con Michale Graves oltre che ultimando di scrivere nuovi brani per il terzo disco atteso per una pubblicazione nei primi mesi del 2019.
