About Silvastone
SILVASTONE is a naturally gifted and super-talented London-based artist/producer/songwriter whose unique R&B/Hiphop tinged Afro sound is a creative hybrid of influences from his West African (Sierra Leone / Ghana) and UK up-bringing plus international travels. He is widely regarded as one of the forefront creatives pioneering the current hybrid of African beats and UK sounds that is presently causing a surge of excitement in the UK – and global, music scene. His music has been playlisted and is frequently heard on popular UK networks like BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, CapitalXtra, Kiss FM, RinseFM, The Beat, Pulse88, etc. where he is championed by some of the scenes biggest and most influential DJs like Mistajam, DJ Edu, Shortee Blitz, DJ Target, Ras Kwame, Charlie Sloth, etc. In addition his music is spun on radio and clubs across Africa, Europe and the USA. Online his music can also be heard on key curated streaming playlists on Spotify, AppleMusic, Tidal, Deezer, etc. SILVASTONE is widely renowned for his energetic feel-good live performances that cross very well to all audience types. The BBC Radio 1Xtra “Hot For 2015” alumni and former MOBO Awards “Best African Act” nominee and multi-instrumentalist SILVASTONE has performed at small and major festivals across the UK and worldwide including two consecutive years at SXSW (Austin Texas),Glastonbury (UK), A3C Festival (Atlanta), Shoko Festival (Zimbabwe), Dance Afrique (London), Liverpool International Music Festival, Ghana Party In The Park, Nigeria Industry Nite (Lagos), Kenya Industry Night (Nairobi), etc. He’s performed at renowned venues internationally including twice at Wembley Arena (London), Ronnie Scotts (London), Roseland Ballroom (NYC), The Shrine (Nigeria), The Jazz Cafe, (London), nearly all the O2 venues across the UK, etc. He has several supported artists on national tours (Akon, Fuse ODG, Davido, etc) and performed PA’s at nearly 300 events/clubs over the last three years. He also presents a monthly African mixshow on Emirates Air inflight entertainment. He also hosts a regular sold-out Afrobeats night #AfroBOX at London’s popular BoxPark Croydon. In April 2017 SILVASTONE independently presented his third headline show alongside his own full band and special guests to a full-house at London’s infamous O2 Academy Islington. He also collaborated/produced/remixed notable names like Damian ‘Jnr Gong’ Marley, Rita Ora, Sarkodie, Chaka Demus and Pliers, French Montana, Popcaan, Ace Hood, Bugzy Malone, Sneakbo, Yemi Alade, Moelogo, Davido, Mark Morrison etc. He’s starred in 2 seasons of popular pan-African broadcast show Coke Studio Africa. SILVASTONE has also written and produced numerous music for award-winning TV and films. His compositions include several Nigerian TV theme titles, documentaries like the award winning “Mandela“, numerous indie movies and Hollywood movies like “The Good Lie” (starring Academy winner Reese Witherspoon). More recently his song “Full Moon Tonight” is featured as the lead theme track for Tyler Perry‘s No. 1 US Box Office movie “Boo 2 – A Madea Halloween“. He also has several other titles shortlisted for other major titles including upcoming episodes of ‘Empire’ and ‘Power’. The multi-talented SILVASTONE has already worked with some of the UK’s hottest acts plus the cream of artists from across Africa and the Caribbean plus commissioned by international brands including Nike, Coca-Cola, Guinness, etc. He has also continously been attracting much label/publisher interests from some of the industries popular labels and publishers and over the last 18 months and presently considering several contracts. SILVASTONE embarked on his music journey as a young teenager aspiring to be DJ. As he steadily built-up his name locally playing at birthday parties for his peers and at various local youth clubs and events before he moved to Freetown, Sierra Leone with his late-father. It was whilst there that he discovered his naturally gifted musical skills whilst attempting to replay songs he heard on radio on his fathers’ old piano whilst they maintained a low profile during the country’s long-ongoing civil war which had now reached the city. later, having escaped fierce militia and back in Croydon he set about putting his new found talents into music production. He was soon being called upon by some of UK’s and Africa’s biggest talents. The early-rise of Afrobeats saw a very young SILVASTONE at the scene’s production forefront and frequent trips to Nigeria and Ghana where he was in high demand after he produced the seminal “Naija At 50” anthem to celebrate Nigeria’s 50th independence featuring an all-star cast of the country’s hottest artists including 2Face, D’banj, Eldee the Don, Ice Prince, Blak Twang, Olu Maintain, etc. He went on to produce popular songs for these artists and eventually after a long spell successfully producing and helping kickstart the careers of many of the genre’s pioneers SILVASTONE eventually in 2014 established himself as an artist/producer following the release of his highly acclaimed debut EP, TRANSITIONS. Within a year the London-based talent had secured a MOBO Awards and Urban Music Awards nomination, performed at Glastonbury Festival, Wembley Arena, toured around the UK twice including supporting Fuse ODG, debut festival performance bookings at SXSW, A3C, London’s DanceAfrique, etc., plus performed at Nigeria’s Industry Nite, Kenya’s Industry Nite, plus performances in Germany, Sweden, etc. He was also certified “Hot For 2015” alongside Stormzy, Lil Sims, RagNBone Man, etc by BBC Radio 1Xtra and supported extensively by other media globally. On his second and current EP, ‘LEVELS‘, the multi-talented star further showcased his wide music versatility and hybrid signature formula of ‘African Beats x UK Street Sounds x Global Melodies‘. Packed with 15 brilliant self-produced and written tracks for every occasion ‘LEVELS’ is the ultimate soundtrack for much enjoyments and celebrations. Every song illustrates SILVASTONE’s expansive musical palate. As per his debut the multi-instrumentalist played every note and banged every beat. His inimitable hypnotic grooves easily connect with diverse audiences of a widespread demographic and transcend barriers of age race and gender. After bringing 2017 to another successful close with further singles from his sophomore EP and performances SILVASTONE has already embarked upon an exciting and ambitious 2018. He'll be performing at his third consecutive SXSW music Festival in March and releasing his his third EP same time. Autum and Summer 2018 are already looking very active as the multi-talent leads up to his biggest headline show to date and a tour of Europe, Africa and a pursuing many opportunities internationally.
