About Teamgiomusic
Gio is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician.
From the age of 12, Gio found peace in creating simple melodies on his guitar and making music quickly became the one element of stability in his childhood.
At this time, Gio found inspiration from artists such as Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin and Johnny Cash as he could relate to the forthright nature of their music and rebelling message.
When Gio was 14, he was introduced to a young producer by the name of Injoy and the two quickly became inseparable.
They released multiple singles together, along with solo works, which ultimately lead to the ‘Real’ tour. This saw Gio perform at shows in Brisbane, Melbourne & Adelaide.
“At that stage; being only 17, I was amazed at the amount of people that showed up. I had to lie and say I was 18 so they would let me perform."
In 2017, Steve Reid; now Gio's manager, attended one of Gio's gigs in his hometown of Werribee. In the days after, they formed what is now known as TGM; or Team Gio Music.
Along with the help of others; including close friend and producer Simon Moro; of Ninetynine100, TGM began working on their debut EP, Finding Milly’s Address.
“It was crazy for a long time because I had everyone telling me to release everything, but I knew that we had to be urgent yet patient.
When we are all happy with what we have created, then we'll be ready to go.”
The moment of realisation came in mid 2019, Gio remembers “People started loving what we're doing."
Everyone working on TGM was swamped by messages asking when our originals were going to be released. "People had heard covers but wanted to hear my stories."
For TGM, it was finally time for the recognition of the hard work they had put in for so long. People are shocked when we tell them this was all created in a shed on the edge of a 20 acre farm."
“I feel like the music I write comes from somewhere in me that I can’t feel. It’s like it’s locked away then at times it just all comes out. It’s as if something from deep inside speaks to me.”
