Lap Giraffe

In the fall of 2012, right before the end of the world, guitarist Sean Doohan was joined by classically trained keyboard jedi Matt Carvin. By chance, both musicians hailed from the same hometown and high school, but suffered from a two year difference in class. Sean's older brother, who was a senior when Matt was a Freshman, befriended Matt in the cafeteria by chance. However, Sean and Matt had not collaborated together until they both began studying music at Finger Lakes Community College. It was immediately apparent once the two jammed together that a band must be formed. Around the same time, Matt played a studio session project with Drummer John Meeske. Arrangements were made by the two to jam, and everything started to fall into place. The only thing that was missing was a bassist. By late spring, the band acquired full time bassist/sonic manipulator Adrien D'Angelo. The quartet unleashed themselves upon Rochester's Jazz Festival at Spot Coffee, and they have been hard at work ever since. Lap Giraffe's sound is a fusion of hip-hop/jazz/funk/dance/downtempo… etc. Chances are, they play music you like to listen to. This is truly a band that everyone can enjoy, and the members are dedicated to their main task: spreading good vibes to all who choose to lend them a listen. Lap-sized giraffe - Ginormous sound.
