About Jeeyoon Kim, pianist

"Absolutely phenomenal! She is a perfect window for music to speak for itself. That is a rare gift to the world..." -Susan Kitterman, former Artistic Director of New World Youth Symphony

"Beautiful control of the instrument, superior technique, and all of that emotion shows up in her sound as well as watching her. I am awed by her talent. It would be criminal for the world not to hear Jeeyoon perform." -Gary Walters, performing artist and jazz pianist

"In addition to her mastery of the instrument, Jeeyoon's music-making transcends the piano, and has the ability to transport the listener directly into the world of the composer. So captivating and powerful…” -Demarre McGill, Acting Principal Flute of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra

Classical pianist Jeeyoon Kim delights audiences with her sensitive artistry, colorful musical expression and insightful commentary from the stage. Gordon Brown from classical radio station XLNC-FM writes, “She is simply a force of nature, one who lives for that special connection with a live audience . . . .”

Jeeyoon’s most recent album, “10 More Minutes,” was released in December 2016. The album is a collection of encore pieces that Jeeyoon has performed over the years when both the audience and the performer long for “10 more minutes” of connection before the concert concludes.

Today, as a classical concert pianist, Jeeyoon performs for audiences in concert halls all over the United States, from San Francisco to New York. As an active chamber musician, she has collaborated with other soloists including violinist Phillippe Quint, Ning Feng and Cellist Johannes Moser.

Jeeyoon Kim began studying the piano when she was just four years old. Her love of music and the piano propelled her through her undergraduate studies in piano performance in Korea, and onto Indiana University’s renowned Jacob School of Music where she earned a Master’s Degree in Music Education and a Doctorate Degree in Piano Performance.

On October 29, 2017, Jeeyoon will be the featured soloist playing George Gershwin’s iconic “Rhapsody in Blue” at Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis with the New World Youth Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras, conducted by Adam Bodony.

Jeeyoon will make her Carnegie Hall debut on December 14, 2017, playing selections from her “10 More Minutes” album in a concert presented by Captivate Artists. For more information, www.jeeyoonkim.com
