About Ted Gärdestad

Ted Gärdestad (February 18, 1956 - June 22, 1997 in Sollentuna, Sweden) was a Swedish singer and musician.

He made himself a name as a 15-year old and has together with his brother Kenneth Gärdestad written a number of popular Swedish songs, such as "Jag vill ha en egen måne", "Satellit" and "Sol, vind och vatten". He was as most popular in the end of the 1970s.

He was in the media, wrongfully, accused of the assassination of Olof Palme, an accusation that hit him hard.

During his last years he suffered from clinical depression. He heard voices and thought that people were following him. He committed suicide by running in front of a train in 1997.
