MANOLITO SIMONET Y SU TRABUCO:
Manolito Simonet, has been a musician since a very young age. First as a piano player and than as bandleader of famous Maravilla de Florida from Camaguey. After 10 years he decided in 1993 to found his very own band - Trabuco. Since than he has been one of Cubas most respected composers, arrangers and producers. Beeing the author of such famous salsa songs as 'Marcando la distancia' or 'El águila' which in 1999 was awarded by US ASCAP as best latin song of the Year. He managed to gain quick acceptance and popularity, because he knew for sure that the key for success was to keep the roots of Cuban music. The rhythm makes everybody dance until the very end. He is currently innovating and experimenting with new sonorities, and has been leading his orchestra along a successful road for the last years. Manolito Simonet y su trabuco have been one of the most eagerly acclaimed orchestras in and outside of Cuba.

Kubas Salsa-Pianist Nummer 1 gründete seinen „Trabuco“ 1993 nachdem er zuvor 10 Jahre die legendäre Band Maravilla de Florida in seiner Heimatstadt Camagüey geleitet hatte.
Manolito Simonet schaffte es auf Anhieb mit seiner Band Erfolge zu haben. Gekonnt verknüpft er den Swing der traditionellen kubanischen Musik, dem Son mit zeitgenössischen Stilelementen und schafft es so spielend sein Publikum bis zum Schluss am Tanzen zu halten. Einige Kompositionen von Manolito gehören zu den bekanntesten Salsa Songs überhaupt. „Marcando la distancia“ fehlt in keiner Latin-Disco und „El aguila“ wurde 1999 von der amerikanischen Musik Akademie ASCAP zum Salsa-Song des Jahres gewählt
