About Sitardust
************************* After the Indian guitar, here comes the Belgian sitar ! Born in the year 1971, Joachim Lacrosse is a musician (sitarist) and also an academic (professor of philosophy). After more than 10 years of classical and jazz guitar, Joachim Lacrosse decided to start sitar classes in 1999, during the first of his 6 trips to India. He learned hindustani music under Raj Bhan Singh, Rafat Khan, Rama and Sadhana Rao, J. K. Dass, Govinda Goswami, Bert Cornelis, Ashok Pathak, and also carnatic music with Geetha Navale (veena). He has performed with B.C. Manjunath, Renaud Crols, Charlotte Danhier, Raphaëlle Brochet, Fabrice de Graef, Fred Becker, Toine Thys, Barbara Wiernik, Eric Bribosia, Jordi Grognard, Fabrice Colet, Bernard Flament, Leen Minten and Carlo Strazzante, among others. Like his philosophical works, his compositions are trying to build some bridges between European and Indian cultures and his style is very close to guitar playing, including the use of chords and the technique of vibrato. Acoustic Belgo-Indian Fusion
