About Travis Stephens - Musician
Between Someday and Never, the new solo album from Travis Stephens, is heavily influenced by a diverse array of genres. Whether purposefully or not, Stephens simultaneously integrates elements of Country, Soul, Post-Punk, and Brit-Pop into a stew that could easily go wrong, but doesn't. As a writer, he seems to understand the importance of allowing the song to take him where it wants to go. A fearless lyricist, Stephens' words are raw, honest, and often cheeky. Aside from his own work, Stephens plays an integral role as a long-standing member of Southern Rock phenom, The Kenneth Brian Band, who were hand-picked by Lucinda Williams to open two years of shows in support of her critically acclaimed double-album, Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone. Stephens has described his influences thusly: "From Son House to Bauhaus, King Curtis to King Diamond, FEAR to Tears For Fears. Everywhere in between." Music-maker. Fiend.
