About Mr. Paradise
Rhythm Meets Soul Flavor and Feeling
Angel Batista, better known as Mr. Paradise, wants to leave his cultural mark on the world with music. Introducing his sound which is born from a fusion of diverse rhythms such as Afro-Latino, Hip-Hop, and Classic Spanish blended with beautiful lyrics and Flamenco harmonies. A self-taught classical guitarist, Mr. Paradise is where Latino Urban Rhythm meets Soul flavor and feeling.
“My music sums up who I am and the journeys I have experienced thus far in life. It has the Flamenco I knew while roaming the streets of Barajas during my childhood in Spain; Hip-Hop which reflects the genuine, honest, and raw truth of my adolescence in the United States, and the roots of the Dominican Republic’s social struggle. “All of these elements are a part of me and flow throughout my music.” says the urban composer.
At the age of 2, he moved with his mother from Villa Duarte, Dominican Republic to Madrid, Spain. Due to his mother’s hectic work schedule, Angel was forced to register to the boarding school, Santa Maria Del Parral whose student body was represented of children from vast parts of the world: Africa, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Eastern Europe, Mexico, Venezuela, and other countries. “We were a diverse group of innocent kids whose focus was on education and having fun. Despite our cultural differences, we were all foreigners together who learned to co-exist without discrimination” Mr. Paradise says. “The knowledge I gained there influenced my outlook on life and how I write music today because I learned that hearts have no races and know no borders.”
Being able to create a conscious voice for those who do not have the courage or freedom to express their social injustices, the Dominican singer-songwriter wishes to convey his message establishing a personal connection with his fans.
Choosing the artistic name based on his concept of happiness, Angel defines the ideology of Mr. Paradise as the union of paradisiacal moments. He argues that the best way of living is by doing so intensely and treasuring the instances a person feels satisfaction and fulfillment; the goal is to capture those moments and make them last forever.
During his early career, Mr. Paradise was part of a Reggaeton group where he established himself as the band’s most influential lyrical and musical composer. This skillful quality accompanies him to this day as he works to create an urban rhythmic sound that will conquer the hearts of Latinos globally. His current single “Forastero” not only relates to the topic of immigration in the United States, but also to anyone who has ever felt astray or foreign in a place away from home. “Forastero” has already reached over 600,000+ streams on Spotify.
In 2016, after launching his second single, “Cirugía”, Mr. Paradise teamed with Artistry & Records for his official management, and shortly after signed his first record deal with Roc Nation Latin under CEO Romeo Santos.
