About Erio

After studying classical singing and composition, Erio wrote a few songs that only his mother managed to convince him to send to some record labels. Amongst them was the label La Tempesta, who instantly fell in love with Erio’s voice and writing. The individuals in the industry who heard his songs readily recognized Erio’s unique talent, and he quickly found himself in front of the mics of the most sought after music producers in Italy, while his music began reaching the ears of overseas A&Rs. Erio and La Tempesta nonetheless decided to maintain control of the project and to get Paolo Baldini to record the songs, with the help of the finest musicians Baldini had previously produced (Mellow mood, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, The Sleeping Tree). Under Baldini’s thorough direction, the songs bloomed and the beauty of the final result exceeded expectations, with a mix of dark atmospheres and sweet melodies, rhythm and blues, and pop-soul.
After two digital singles (‘We’ve Been Running/Oval In Your Trunk’ and ‘The Reason/Torch Song’) were presented to the public in 2015, on the 6th of November of the same year, it was time for Erio to release Für El, his first LP and for people to hear the results: 12 tracks that unveil an unpredictable mix of emotions that likens his work to that of Bjork, Tracy Chapman, Bon Iver and Sigur Ros – and who knows what else – all coming together in perfect harmony. The cover art for the album is the result of Alessandro Baronciani’s graphics and a photograph by Elena Morelli, whose work specializes in landscapes, paths, nature and stars.

Following a year of touring that brought him and his live band to the most renowned music clubs in Italy, Erio went back to the studio to record his sophomore album, INESSE. This new record sees Erio in the role of producer, with the help in a few tracks of Yakamoto Kotzuga, IOSHI and Will Rendle (Will and the People). The sound is contemporary and turns towards a fluid and distorted electronic, influenced by atmospheres decidedly RnB and Hip Hop, on which, using the most disparate registers, the singer-songwriter’s voice creates endless layers and harmonies reminiscent of some certain oriental music while unravelling candid yet cryptic stories of urban life, messed-up cyber love, and a constant yearning for a place in the world.
