Marta Hugon

Marta Hugon is the musicians’ singer. Musical empathy with the band is her first priority. Equipped with a solid knowledge of the jazz tradition – she is a teacher at the Hot Clube de Portugal as well as a soloist in the Big Band – Marta Hugon is constantly reinventing herself, musically speaking, while always alert to the spirit of the times.These twin aspects of her art are the basis of a career which led to her latest original recording - her first entirely sang in her native Portuguese, where she reveals her true voice and original writing, working together with composers and lyricists from different origins, such as the piano player Mário Laginha, the singer Sara Tavares, or the writer José Eduardo Agualusa.
