From the Examiner: "If you didn't attend The Landing's 4th of July celebration, then you definitely missed out on a hodgepodge of musical genres that performed on the stage. One of which pushed through the reeds and delivered a deep folk sound that would have brought Johnny Cash back for a barbecue. Cougar Barrel played a menagerie of their own homegrown songs, along with a few of the vintage folk classics we all adore. This three piece, Jacksonville based band is composed of a guitar, a bass, a mandolin, and your occasional backwoods percussion instrument for that eclectic feel. Ian Edwards, Wilson Coffin, and Joe Pecor form this folkie pride trio. Whether they're throwing in a harmonica chorus or a mandolin solo, Cougar Barrel knows how to reach all audiences. Anyone that has been to The Landing knows the crowd is anything but homogeneous, but viewers from all walks of life were tuned in and adjusting their internal vintage radio antennae to give these guys a listen. Not to mention these three young gents are cuter than a junebug on a magnolia leaf in the twilight of summer. With their classical folk style and smart dressed style, Cougar Barrel is here to relive the days of old and bring a new appreciation to this style of music."
