Obridium

Being dubbed as one of the “Kings of the Underground” by online magazine, WompWorthy.com, Obridium has only just begun his reign tearing the scene apart with violent, cybernetic basses. The 18 year-old Nashville native, better known to friends and family as Kody Sumner, has already gained support from some of the heavyweights of the scene, including Funtcase, Getter, AFK, Sadhu, JPhelpz, & more. With releases on Prime Audio, Tectonik Records, & Audiophile Live, it’s no shocker that Obridium has already made a massive imprint in the scene. The journey began for Obridium in 2011, when he began to produce liquid Drum ‘n’ Bass music in Cubase; however, it didn’t take long for then young 16-year old Kody to quickly realize he had an act for heavier bass music. With influences from genre pioneers Excision, Downlink, & Datsik and countless months and years of trial & error, Obridium began to release material that would catch the eye of many a producer and DJ. Releasing his “Grindinbass” in early 2013, Obridium’s run would start to the top of the world circuit. Receiving recognition from blogs, YouTube, & other producers/DJs, “Grindinbass” would only show the promise of the following months. In mid-2013, Obridium would release his “D.R.I.N.K. EP” through Suspect’s Prime Audio label brand. This EP would end up charting #1 on Beatport’s Glitch Hop genre. The following months, Obridium would release a series of remixes and is now currently working on his next EP. The future is bright for young Obridium, and the domination has only just begun.
