About Katie Cashman

Someone so awesome already wrote a bio for me… and it was right on… and I appreciate all the efforts and research they put into writing a grammatically correct beautiful professional bio… but it just didn't feel right, wasn't 100% all me. :) sooo… here we go… *WARNING: ( I apologize in advance if something is written backwards, or is just plain incoherent… I have been diagnosed with dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, and Auditory Processing… in other words I have a different way of looking at the world, which I am so grateful for :)).* Hi, I am Katie. I go by K-Cash or cashmoney. I love the number 11. I was born on April Fool's Day in Tokyo, Japan. So my sisters would say my life is a joke… and to be honest… it is. My favorite thing in life besides writing about life is to make people smile and laugh and others feel great and confident about themselves and to notice the beauty of the moment and the outdoors of the right now. My favorite thing about writing about life is being able to see that in a world so big, we all still have one connection and need to be accepted for who we are. Genuinely as we are in this moment, state, and day. From experience I have realized the one person that has kept me from feeling the connection is behind these blue eye. Since 16, that has been my main mission in life… to make a difference in this world by writing about what this crazy game called life has taken me through and to find the sun even on a cloudy day. It all depends on perspective. Then write/ sing so maybe one day you can sing it too and see how we the things we see effect our point of view. So a little about me… I was born April 1, 1992 in Tokyo, Japan. I was an alien for two week because I had no japanese in me. I have two beautiful, amazing sisters and great, loving, strong group of parents. I was diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Auditory Processing at a young age, as well as I had an obesity Issue till I was 15 and then had some pretty intense self confidence issues from 7th-12th grade, so I just became quiet would got to school and swim. Never really talked much but you would always hear me sing without me even knowing I was singing. I didn't have my ABC's down till 2nd grade. Never have been to a school dance. Believed in Santa till I was 14 and the easter bunny still exists… I saw him a couple weeks ago in my front yard. I have 1 boy cousin out of 14 girl cousins. I have the most diverse amazing goofy family which quotes Borate and Step Brothers non-stop. I'm easily excited, happy, entertained, smiley, scared, and shocked. I am 22 now, but still find the most random simple things the most entertaining. We didn't have cable in our home when we grew up so I constantly needing something todo. Sitting still isn't an option. My mom said I was naturally born high due to the ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Auditory Processing which I couldn't agree more. I swam for 11 years with an awesome coach named Pike who taught me so many valuable lessons in life… going through the good and the bad and to this day I still go back to how I would handle a situation on how I would handle it in a pool. I am a water addict… Any type of anxiety or fear I have to take it to the water… whether that be on a paddle board or swimming laps… I get into a trance and just keep going till my mind is clear or untilI have the song clearly thought out in my head. I love water. I feel like at times it is the only thing that is consistent and supports me no matter water. I love being outside preferably near a big body of water. I am a Bikrim Yoga Instructor as of a couple weeks ago… as well as a SUP instructor. and sometimes I feel like doing both. I write my best out on water floating on my board with the sun shining down and rain pouring down in clear skies… to me that is the most amazing feeling and connected I feel to myself and to everyone around me. I can't wait for my next project to be finished. And to see where it takes me and how you all feel about it. All of the support I have been given has been such a blessing and I cannot wait to go bigger and start playing venues all around the world. It's strange to feel so understood when I don't even understand and I think that is what Is love. This concept that it is ok not to be ok. The only way to get to the other side is through so just like a river you have to let the good or bad water flow through… being fully present. Recently: My Friend Taylor and I recently formed a side project calling ourselves TKO…I am so very excited to let y'all hear what we are up to with in the next few months… and hopefully get to see a bunch of y'all out on the road this coming year! Singing both our own songs and the songs we have started to work on together going on the road with one of my best friends and having them on a stage with me with you all there just makes me sooo excited to get to y'all where ever you maybe and start singing with y'all acting our silly selfs on a stage with you all! :) Write on either one of our pages we would love to hear from you and start planning trips to see everyone! -KT www.katiecashmanmusic.com
