The Winery Dogs

Mike Portnoy, Richie Kotzen and Billy Sheehan created a true super-group with Winery Dogs. Indeed, a band of great pedigree! Their individual and virtuosic performances were stellar. However, each served the song and it was the overall performance that roared to life in the Marble Factory. Winery Dogs tore up Bristol and I hope they feel we gave them a great reception. The guys brought the band. Bristol brought the party!

The 🍷🐾 are an amazing talented band who put a fantastic show on. Amazing musicianship, effortless harmonies and great rock music. This gig was high energy with a vocal and appreciative audience. Ritchie Kotzens vocals are impressive and his well known guitar capabilities were to the fore. Billy Sheehan is one of the best known bass players in the world, having played with all the best guitarists and his contribution to the 🍷🐾 is solid and perfect for the sound. Mike Portnoy is simply one of the most talented drummers around and he uses another facet of his ability for this band. The set covered all 3 albums with my standouts being Gaslight, Stars and Elevate. A great gig.

The Winery Dogs are a band I have loved and admired since they began in 2012. The gig at Riverside Newcastle did NOT disappoint. Winery Dogs are a 3-piece rock power house displaying the best musicianship in the worlds. Super powerful, tight, full of flare, energy, with beautiful vocals by Richie Kotzen, and dazzling guitar work. Billy Sheehan have us bass power 10-fold with electrifying showmanship, and tones that you never hear from a regular bassist. My dum hero Mike Portnoy displayed a performance or spectacular drum chops, groves, accents and mini solos in abundance, with mind-blowing speed and precision. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!! 🐶🐶🐶😎😎😎🤘🤘🤘🙌🙌🙌

OMG what a fantastic show they never disappoint I waited for 2 hours to get to the front I’m a fan of sons of Apollo so Mike and Billy are awsome as so Richie kotzen amazing guitar player also their support act james jules Nichols was 11/10 The only negative is I have a ticket for sons of Apollo that’s never happened for 2 years ago so how come 2 members are here in the uk ?!

Great show! I’m a huge Mike Portnoy fan, I’ll watch any band he’s in as he’s got the musical Midas touch. Already seen him with The Neal Morse Band and Sons of Apollo. The Winery Dogs didn’t disappoint either. Arse-kicking hard rock tunes with a world-class rhythm section…but my goodness, I was not prepared for the brilliance from Mr Ritchie Kotzen…what a killer guitarist and a soulful rock vocalist! Solo after face-melting solo. Top marks from me!

Awesome show! So glad I went. I purchased the VIP package, and it was totally worth it IMO. The guys were all so nice and accommodating. The show itself was everything I expected it to be and more! I'd never been to Vamp'd before - I loved it - sounded great in there - the decor was so cool. Friendly staff, definitely will be going back for more shows!

The Winery Dogs are the best trio out there. Master musicians playing all original songs, spanning three albums. And, they perform it all live. If you missed them in the US, then you'll probably have to wait a long time for them to come back. But, when they do, don't hesitate. In the meantime, get their three albums. Better yet, explore their other projects like Son's of Apollo, Mr Big, Dream Theater, and Richie Kotzen solo projects.

El concierto desde la capacidad de la banda fue impecable, pero la organización fue desafortunada por no decir desastrosa, el lugar no da para una concierto de esa magnitud, había sobre cupo, si algo salía mal era tragedia segura, cambiaron el lugar seguramente por ventas por debajo de lo presupuestado, pero el cambio no fue lo necesario para una banda de ese tipo, ni para la seguridad de los asistentes.

Como siempre, te vuelan la cabeza!!!!!!!! Que banda!!!!! Richie con su voz increíble, y su guitarra explosiva. Billie estrujando el bajo haciendo coros y bueno... que se puede decir de Mike Portnoy, reventando la bateria y los platillos y su inmenso carisma alentando a toda la audiencia y sin dejar de destacar a sus compañeros de banda!!! Gran noche de Rock and Roll!!!!!! Quiero una semana entera de THE WINERY DOGS!!!!!!!

What an incredible show. All of those guys can really play their instruments. It was a great performance. I’m glad I was able to catch them live. If your on the fence about going and seeing Richie, Billy and Mike, get off the fence and go see them. You won’t regret it. Only bad thing about seeing them is, I won’t be able to see them again soon.

First it was my 55th Birthday!!! The venue and the workers were very nice and gentle. THE BAND!!! REAL MUSICIANS!!! I'VE BEING FOLLOWING BILLY SHEEHAN SINCE 1985, I MET HIM IN 1998 AT MARS PLANET CLINIC IN GEORGIA. THEN WITH STEVE VAI AT THE G3 IN ATLANTA AT THE TABERNACLE. I SAW MIKE PORTNOY WITH DREAM THEATER AND WITH JOHN PETRUCCI ON THE 1ST G3 IN ATLANTA AT THE TABERNACLE. NEVER SAW RITCHIE KOTZEN BEFORE. I KNEW HE IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW GUITARISTS THAT DOESN'T USE PICS TO PLAY. IT WAS A GREAT DAY FOR ME. I JUST MOVED TO SPRING CITY, TENNESSEE AFTER LIVING FOR 27 YEARS IN ATLANTA, GA. I LOVE IT SO FAR.

Opening with a track from their new album lll, The Winery Dogs set the tone for the show….anything goes and everything perfect. Kotzen was jaw dropping on guitar, Sheehan was, well, Sheehan, just incredible and Portnoy in my opinion, playing at his best with the Dogs, showing size doesn’t matter (when it comes to drum kits). If you haven’t heard them or you have, but haven’t seen them live, I guarantee, you will not be disappointed. Only downside….the show ended.

Excellent show by three of the greatest representatives of their respective crafts and getting to see my primary bass idol for the first time was a genuine plus. Only "negative" is the venue is not ideal when sold out if one wants to take a seat versus standing the whole time unless one gets a VIP (upstairs seating) ticket which looking back wished I purchased one. First world problems eh?

SO much talent in 3 humans, and the venue was off the hook!!! We got one of the 7 suites available at Jannus Live. Kendall at Jannus helped us line everything up for the show and she was fantastic. I've been to a ton of concerts in my years and this will be one of the more memorable for both the band and the venue.

I've seen Mike Portnoy 20+ times w/Dream Theater and I've seen Billy Sheehan 3 times w/different specialty acts, but I've never seen Ritchie Kotzen or The Winery Dogs as a band. They were great! And this is the first time I've been to The Haute Spot (and it won't be the last). Great venue! Came all the way from Las Vegas to see this show. Happy to be on the e-mail subscription list for upcoming shows.

The Winery Dogs were amazing, especially considering how poor the venue's electric/sound was. I have performed at the Blue Note (years ago) and had a good experience. But something was off during their show - they left after 2 songs because of a hissing/buzzing sound and came back about 10 minutes later when it was supposed to be fixed - only it wasn't. I feel awful for the band and hope that they return to Cincinnati (but not at the Blue Note). Please, please, please come back. Mark

The Winery Dogs is a band that has three guys that are some of the best in the world at what they do, and on top of that they write amazing songs together! And what I discovered is even better is hearing those songs live and watching these guys perform. They put on an amazing show! So good that we saw two nights in a row! Wish I could have made it three. If you can see these guys, DON’T MISS IT!

The Winery Dogs put on a fantastic show last night at The Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis, MN. Richie Kotzen, Billy Sheehan and Mike Portnoy are three very talented musicians that work very well together. I look forward to hearing more great music from the trio. I recommend that anyone who hasn’t seen these three guys perform together to go do so, as they will not disappoint. 5 Stars + 😻 Linda Bay

The Winery Dogs are by far, the most talented band out there today. Richie Kotzen, Billy Sheehan, and Mike Portnoy make their hard driving rock music put a big smile on your face. Watching them rip through their set of original songs is a special treat. The level of musicianship between the three of them is by far spectacular. Neither Richie or Billy use picks when they play. While Mike Portnoy behind the drum kit drives the engine. Tonight was the last night of their little US tour. But they did announce that they are making new music, and will have a new album to support in the near future. I highly recommend seeing The Winery Dogs any chance you get. All three of them are very active in other bands. And if you have a chance to see them in their respective projects, I would say go out and see them

Fantastic! As always, the multi talented Richie Kotzen proved that he's the perfect front man. Mike Portnoy and Billy Sheehan need no introduction. It's a perfect blend that makes this power trio, an unique one! They are great on record, but to see these legends live is a hell of an experience! The band that opened for them, Inglorious, did a very good job in getting the crowd started for the main event.
