Zombie Frogs

Zombie Frogs is an instrumental Progressive Metal band formed in the Fall of 2012 by guitarist Sam Reti. With the addition of Erik Huang on drums and Austin Bolden on bass, the trio started working on tracks that Sam brought in, and quickly began writing brand new material together, as well. Realizing the need for a keyboardist, Erik discovered Joey Izzo through a mutual friend at Berklee and asked if he would be interested in joining Zombie Frogs. Thus completing the line-up for about a year, the 4-piece instrumental group began performing around the local music scene to widespread acclaim. A year later, the recording process for the band's first full-length album titled "Awaken" started in full force. While they continued to perform in Boston and write new material, the first 8 original songs that these four musicians wrote together began to take physical form under the recording and engineering brilliance of Joey Izzo himself. A melting pot of progressive rock, metal, and djent influences constructed the groundbreaking new album right in front of their eyes. In December 2013, with the new record well in the works, Zombie Frogs enlisted guitarist Lucky Cerruti to join the group on lead guitar as a permanent fifth member. Soon following in March 2014, Lucas Lalonde took up bass duties. Shortly after, the band released their next single “Anura”, which took them to a new level in songwriting and musicianship. The band then went on to perform with many national acts and were invited to play on such festivals as The Allstars Tour and Mike Portnoy’s Progressive Nation at Sea 2014, the band gained widespread acclaim . Unfortunately, the band then went through a major change in lineup, resulting in a 2+ year hiatus. However, through determination and the love for their craft, Sam, Lucky and the brilliant new addition of Andreäs Etxeberria on keys, began working on new material.
