Rhodesia

Rhodesia is an electronic and folk inspired duo comprised of Matthew Bell and Emma Duncan. Both hailing from the red dirt of Zimbabwe, they are now based in Far North Queensland, recording their music in a secluded rainforest treehouse. Rhodesia's sound is soulful and uplifting; folk vocals and philosophical lyrics fused with sparing synth and stripped back beats in a sound described as Bonobo meets Bon Iver, or Seekae meets early Sia. There's a hint of tribal at times too, a clear nod to the Africa of their childhoods. Rhodesia has already done support shows for The Starry Field, ALBY and Matt McHugh(The Beautiful Girls) and later this year Rhodesia plans to hit the road touring the east coast of Australia to showcase their hybrid electro-folk.
