About The Girl Who Cried Wolf

Music that breathes as well as suffocates. A sound hidden in darkness. Songs shrouded in a contemporary melancholy. That is what The Girl Who Cried Wolf is all about. The band from Antwerp spent the last weeks of a busy 2014 in a snow covered Ghent. There they began recording their debut album. The album signifies a natural progression of their earlier work, having released their debut EP ‘Ohm’ (January 2014) and a single ‘Norway’ (October 2014). These first releases led to numerous shows throughout Belgium and The Netherlands. For the new album, 9 songs were written, moulded, abandoned and revisited. This is how the band attempted to give each song its own character, while still remaining loyal to the core sound that is unique to The Girl Who Cried Wolf. With this album, the band has one very clear goal in mind. They want to welcome a broad audience into the habitat of the wolf. The Girl Who Cried Wolf is: Heleen Destuyver, Samir Boureghda, Sofie Sweygers, Michael-John Joosen and Willem Meeus. Dark and moody indierock/triphop from Belgium
