Cáthia

"Known as the little girl with a big voice", Cáthia was singing before she could speak. A talented singer and brilliant songwriter/ musician, Cáthia has been making music for more than half her life. She is a graduate from Fiorello LaGuardia Performing Arts HS (The Fame School) where she trained and developed her voice through classical music. Cáthia was able to develop her vocal and songwriting skills at LaGuardia, and to this day continues operatic training to maintain and further develop her voice. She plays the piano and believes that music is the way to connect with people all over the world. At only 21 years old, Cáthia has performed on some of the biggest stages and in front of huge audiences including Carnegie Hall and the renowned Apollo Theater where she placed first in Three Rounds of the Amatuer Night Competition. Cathia was most recently seen on The Voice Season 4 (2013) where she quickly got the attention of superstar coaches Shakira, Usher and Blake Shleton. Cathia has also participated on the X Factor (2011) and won multiple scholarships and music awards, including a YoungArts Award for Vocal Performance. She performs at open miss aroun Cathia's music is a balance of pop, latin and soul, she incorporates the rhythms and genres she grew up listening to in the Bronx, New York. Being of Salvadorian descent and seeing the struggles her parents had to go through when first coming to the US inspires Cáthia to live out her own American Dream, and encourage others to pursue theirs. Her vocal ability has been compared to that of Selena Quintanilla, Christina Aguilera and Jessie J. She is a blend of latin music, soul and pop- creating her own unique sound in todays music industry.
