On behalf of the Ely community, I want to thank Scottie for heading "up north" and sharing his versatile collection of music. He instantly worked the energy in the room for people to experience deep emotions. I cried listening to "Home Town". I shrieked with laughter and excitement during "Bleeker Street". People got up and danced and showed gratitude during this amazing evening. I was honored to shake his hand, take a selfie with him, and visit about good things in life.

About Scottie Miller

Renowned musician Scottie Miller achieved the esteemed honor of being named “Artist of the Year” from Bluebird Reviews in 2023, thanks to his outstanding poetry book and album “Carnival Cocoon.”

His collaboration with Ruthie Foster led him to grace the red carpet at the 2024 Grammy® Awards, where Foster's album “Healing Time” garnered a nomination for “Best Contemporary Blues Album.” (Scottie contributed to the title track and other songs on the album.) Furthermore, the same album received nominations at the 2024 Blues Music Awards, where Scottie, Hadden Sayers and Ruthie won the Song of the Year award for “What Kind of Fool.”

Scottie has been inducted into The Minnesota Blues Hall Of Fame for three distinct honors: Blues Literature; Blues Performer and Blues Song.

“A deeply soulful musician with a fearless mind and the heart of a hopeless romantic. And oh those magic fingers! That joyful spirit of Jack Kerouac and Steve Allen in one man?! Hallelujah baby!”
- Peggy Lou - Awake and Willing. WWOZ New Orleans

“Scottie Miller’s latest ‘project’ is a performance art gumbo of original poetry and music breathed life by his creativity. The poetry has the mellifluous lilt of a songwriter/lyricist while imbuing significant substance born of the adroit observations of a witness/ commentator on the path of his life. The music is the soundtrack of his heart and soul. Paired together it is simply brilliant performance art. One without the other would surely make you crave ‘the rest of the story’. The book and soundtrack will fill a much needed spot in your collection. The LIVE Performance will allow you to feel the breath and taste the splendor of art birthed as magnificently intended.”
- John Hammer; Publisher Blue Monday Monthly and Producer/Host of Hammered By The Blues radio.

“A Twin Cities musical treasure, Scottie Miller—keyboardist, singer, songwriter and bandleader—now adds poet to his list of talents. Drawing on his own life experiences as well as those of the down and out, his words and music elicit feelings of hope amidst adversity.”
- Carolyn Walkup - Big City Rhythm & Blues Magazine.

“His muscular vocals boast grit and firewater.”
- City Pages.

“It's important to underline the unquestionable artistic skills of Scottie Miller not just on this record but as a musician overall. He is the shining sun and the center of the universe of the Scottie Miller Band's musical solar system, thanks to an eclecticism and talent very rare to find nowadays in a musician.”
