About Dan Zura

Dan Zura began writing and recording as a teenager. He started performing in Vermont in his early twenties and released his first full-length, “What Moves You Kid” in 2006.
Since then he’s lived in Texas, Washington state, Maryland, Connecticut and Vermont, releasing several EPs, working as an innkeeper, plowing runways, busking, and writing poems.
Dan released his second LP, “Leo’s Lament” on January 1, 2018. In his review of the album, Chris Farnsworth of Seven Days VT writes that “Zura's vocal delivery has only gotten better over time, exuding confidence and character throughout”, and suggests “perhaps it's the time he spent crafting Leo's Lament, or just the natural progression of his writing, but Zura keeps things moving at all times. If the album were a novel, it'd be a page-turner."
Dan is currently writing and recording tracks for a follow up release with the working title of “Sharp Range”. This will be a collection of songs in a traditional country style, only bastardized by fuzzed out guitars and synths.
