MOOCH

MOOCH formed in 2014 in Montreal. After a few years of lineup changes, the trio solidified as Ben, Alex and Julian, a lineup that has been active for 8 years now. The band has always embraced the D.I.Y work ethic and has been an independent band since the start. The in-house efforts include, and are not limited to, booking, tour managing, recording, mixing, mastering, graphic design and video editing, with each member heading their respective department. This has allowed the group to pursue a sustainable experience as an independent underground band. With one of their members now living out in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, the fact that the band still continues to write, record and tour is a testament to years of dedication, communication and growth.

With the Fall 2023 release of their sophomore record Wherever It Goes the band completed a headlining Eastern Canadian Tour of 18 shows in 16 cities across 4 provinces (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia). The record was self-produced and independently released. It was also made available on vinyl along with the band’s 2020 debut LP HOUNDS, recorded in Joshua Tree, California with desert rock pioneer Brant Bjork (Kyuss, Fu Manchu), Bubba Dupree (Void, 3rd Secret), and Yosef Sanborn (Massive FX Pedals).

The MOOCH live show experience is a timeless expression of rock n' roll music. Whether showered in a psychedelic light show, cradled by a curtain of fog, or out in the open air, the music is delivered with razor-sharp precision and an outflow of captivating energy from each member. In their travels, MOOCH have played renowned venues like Montreal’s Club Soda and Petit Campus. Summer 2023 brought the band to Yellowknife to play Folk on the Rocks (“Small Festival of the Year" award at the 2023 Canadian Live Music Awards), and to headline Float on the Rocks, a floating show in the middle of Great Slave Lake. MOOCH has shared the stage with the likes of Yawning Man, Truckfighters, 1000 MODS, Blackwater Holylight, We Are the Asteroid, Status/Non-Status, and many other wonderful artists, with many more to come.
