About Mark Pontin Group
Since releasing his debut album, ‘Days of Destiny’ in 2013, Mark Pontin has firmly established himself in the UK Blues/Rock scene as an artist to take notice of. A multiple blues award nominee and stalwart guitar player and vocalist, Mark once again shows his skills on his latest record as a man of many talents.
Formed in 2011, Mark began rehearsing a line up and writing songs that would lead to 2013”s debut album ‘ Days Of Destiny’. It caused quite a stir. 5 nominations in the British Blues Awards and finalists in the ‘Emerging Artist; and ‘Blues Song Of The Year’, all from a self release with no PR. Word of mouth began to spread.
The sophomore album ‘Textures’ came next in 2015 – to huge critical acclaim. The album featured on many ‘top 10 of the year’ lists that year, with literally dozens of 10/10 reviews. Mark had stepped up with production, songwriting and performance, so much so that one eager reviewer was led to write ‘Pontin is the new Jimmy Page’.
But Mark always felt he could push more, and with each album the challenge is there to better the next, and here in 2021 we have the much anticipated follow up to Textures – ‘Kaleidoscope’.
